Health ministry launches Care1166 digital complaint management system

ISLAMABAD, Nov 04 (APP):Federal Minister for National Health Services Syed Mustafa Kamal on Wednesday launched the Care1166 Health Complaint Management System at the Federal Directorate of Immunization (FDI), introducing a centralized digital platform to facilitate public complaints and strengthen accountability across the health sector.
Under the new system, residents of Islamabad will be able to register complaints regarding the Ministry of National Health Services and its attached departments and institutions through a single helpline number, 1166, without having to visit different government offices.
The portal aims to provide citizens, particularly those living in remote areas, with convenient access to relevant authorities through telephone calls, ensuring that their health-related concerns are formally registered and addressed.
According to the ministry, complaints will be automatically forwarded to the concerned departments or designated officers, while their progress will be monitored from registration to resolution.
A central dashboard has been established to maintain a record of every complaint, its assignment to the responsible officer and the action taken for its resolution.
The health minister will also be able to review complaints and their progress through the dashboard from his office, enabling direct oversight of the performance of relevant departments.
The system is designed not only to facilitate the registration of public complaints but also to ensure follow-up and track the practical steps taken by authorities to resolve them.
The centralized platform will also help identify health-related issues and disease trends in different areas through analysis of complaints received from citizens.
Initially, the system will facilitate complaints regarding government hospitals and dispensaries in Islamabad, with designated officers assigned at respective hospitals to ensure timely redressal.
The platform will maintain a centralized and traceable record of hospital-related complaints, enabling the Ministry of Health to directly monitor public grievances and service delivery across government healthcare facilities.
The ministry said the initiative would particularly help women, low-income families and marginalized communities by providing them with an accessible channel to bring their concerns directly to government authorities.
The system is expected to improve transparency, strengthen institutional accountability and provide a clearer picture of public health service delivery through systematic monitoring of complaints and their resolution.
