ISLAMABAD, Nov 03 (APP): Speaker of National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has strongly condemned the firing incident targeting police personnel deployed to provide security for the anti-polio campaign in Mohmand district, expressing deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Speaker paid rich tribute to the courage, determination and professional services of the police personnel performing security duties to protect the nationwide anti-polio campaign.
He said targeting security personnel engaged in the national campaign to safeguard the future of innocent children was an extremely shameful act.
Ayaz Sadiq extended his heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the bereaved families of the martyred police personnel and prayed for patience and strength for them to bear the irreparable loss.
He also prayed for the early recovery of the police personnel injured in the incident.
The Speaker said the services and sacrifices of police personnel in supporting nationwide efforts to eradicate polio were highly commendable.
He prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and eternal peace for their departed souls.
