Ombudsman secures Rs.216.1m relief for 269 citizens in three months
LAHORE, Nov 03 (APP):The Office of the Ombudsman Punjab on Tuesday secured the release of outstanding dues worth Rs.216.10 million to 269 citizens across the province in three months through timely intervention,providing them financial relief.
The citizens had approached the Ombudsman Punjab after facing delays or refusal by government departments to pay their legitimate dues.
Acting on their complaints,the Ombudsman Punjab directed the relevant departments to release the outstanding amounts.
According to a spokesperson,80 citizens received Rs.89.459 million as financial assistance while Rs.26.739 million was paid to 30 citizens against contractual dues.
Similarly,16 citizens received Rs.37 million in pension benefits while eight were paid Rs.2.915 million as family pension.
Moreover,40 citizens received Rs10.955 million as marriage grants while 10 were paid Rs.5.798 million as death grants.
An amount of Rs.5.219 million was released to 23 citizens under the General Provident Fund (GP Fund) while 55 citizens received Rs.36.758 million in outstanding salaries.
The payments also included Rs.239,400 in property tax refunds to three citizens and Rs.113,400 in farewell grants to two citizens.
Additionally,one citizen received Rs.923,000 in group insurance, while another was paid Rs.750,000 as gratuity.
The complainants appreciated the Ombudsman Punjab’s intervention, saying it helped them secure their legitimate dues and resolve their grievances.
