HYDERABAD, Nov 03 (APP):The Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) has introduced a modern electronic attendance system to prevent impersonation and other forms of examination malpractice, making digital verification of candidates mandatory in all future written examinations.
The initiative, launched under the directives of SPSC Chairperson Rizwan Ahmed, aims to make the examination process more transparent, secure and reliable.
According to the Commission, the system was successfully tested during the recently held Revenue Qualifying Departmental Examination (RQE). Following its successful trial, the commission has decided to implement it in all upcoming descriptive written examinations. However, Computer-Based Tests (CBTs) will remain exempt from this decision, as an electronic attendance system is already in place for these examinations.
Under the new mechanism, candidates’ attendance will be recorded electronically at examination centres, along with digital verification of their identities. The system will replace the traditional manual attendance procedure and help prevent impersonation, ensuring that no unauthorized person can appear in place of a registered candidate.
An SPSC spokesperson said the primary objective of the initiative was to protect the rights of deserving and hardworking candidates and ensure merit, transparency and equal opportunities in the recruitment process.
The spokesperson added that the commission would continue introducing technology-based reforms and modernizing its examination system to further strengthen public confidence in the recruitment process.
