SHC puts respondents on notice in flyover construction case
HYDERABAD, Nov 02 (APP): The Sindh High Court Hyderabad Circuit Bench on Monday issued notices to the respondents in a petition challenging the construction of a Flyover at Labbaik Chowk in Latifabad.
The notice has been issued in a petition filed by Muhammad Noman, Abdul Jabbar and Muhammad Ahsan Mughal, challenging the Pakistan Infrastructure Development Company Limited (PIDCL) tendered project.
The petitioners contended through their lawyer, Advocate Ayatyllah Khowaja, that the project would create an adverse environmental impact in addition to wasteful expenditure of public funds.
They argued that the intersection in question could easily be regulated for traffic by installing a traffic signal, as some other intersections in Hyderabad with greater traffic volume, like Hussainabad.
