Kashmiris observing Black Day today against India’s illegal occupation

ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (APP):Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and across the world are observing Black Day today, October 27, to convey to the world that India has militarily occupied their homeland illegally and against their will and aspirations since 1947.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the day is being marked by protests in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and rallies and seminars in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan and where Kashmiris are settled in the world.
October 27 marks the day when in 1947 India in total violation of the spirit of the Partition Plan of the Subcontinent and against the wishes and aspirations of the Kashmiri people landed its troops in Jammu and Kashmir. Since then, October 27 remains the darkest day in Kashmir’s history.
Since then, Kashmiris have been struggling for freedom from India’s illegal occupation and the right to decide their own future.
Protest marches, rallies and seminars are being held in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan and all over the world to condemn the invasion of the territory by the Indian Army on October 27, 1947, as well as the revocation of special status under Articles 370 and 35A of occupied Jammu and Kashmir by the Hindutva BJP government on August 5, 2019.
The call for the observance of Black Day has been given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and other pro-freedom organizations. The APHC leadership in IIOJK asked Kashmiris to honour the sacrifices of martyrs, uphold the stand of jailed leadership and send a loud and clear message to the world that they will not rest till they achieve freedom from the Indian yoke.
October 27 is observed as Black Day and a day of mourning to convey to India that they reject its illegal occupation. The Hurriyat urged the international community to play its role in settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with Kashmiris’ aspirations and relevant UN resolutions.
Relevant UNSC resolutions affirm the principle of determining Kashmir’s future through a free and impartial plebiscite, and the UN and other world bodies are duty-bound to come to the rescue of Kashmiris.
Meanwhile, posters have appeared in different areas of occupied Kashmir asking people to make today’s Black Day successful. The posters described October 27, 1947, as the darkest chapter in the history of Jammu and Kashmir and have also been shared on social media platforms including X, Facebook and WhatsApp.
The Pakistani nation is also observing October 27 as Black Day to express solidarity with the people of IIOJK.
Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination has remained a source of encouragement for their struggle and Pakistan remains committed to supporting the Kashmiri people in their pursuit of freedom and a peaceful resolution of the dispute.
