ISLAMABAD, Oct 15 (APP): The Federal Directorate of Immunization (FDI) has reviewed field findings from the first and second quarters of 2026 under Pakistan’s Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI).
The focus was on strengthening programme implementation, accountability and the effective use of resources.
The findings were presented by the EY Pakistan team, a Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance assurance provider, during a dissemination session chaired by FDI Director General Dr. Musa Khan.
Representatives of the FDI, the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF and other partner organizations attended the session to review key observations, discuss implementation challenges and identify areas requiring improvement.
The discussions focused on translating field findings into practical measures to enhance programme performance, improve coordination among stakeholders and ensure greater transparency in the delivery of immunisation services.
Addressing the participants, Dr. Musa Khan emphasized the need to convert the findings into actionable measures to address identified gaps and strengthen the overall effectiveness of the immunisation programme.
He underscored the importance of close coordination between the FDI and its development partners to improve implementation, ensure accountability and promote the efficient utilisation of available resources.
Dr. Musa Khan also stressed that sustained efforts were required to ensure that immunisation services reached every eligible child, highlighting the importance of effective planning, monitoring and collaboration in achieving national vaccination targets.
The session provided an opportunity for the FDI and its partners to discuss follow-up actions aimed at addressing identified shortcomings and further strengthening Pakistan’s routine immunization system.
