CDA reviews market upgrades amid focus on parking, pedestrian access

ISLAMABAD, Oct 15 (APP): The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is reviewing infrastructure improvements at some of Islamabad’s busiest commercial centres, including Kohsar Market, Jinnah Super and F-7 Markaz, with better parking arrangements and pedestrian access among the areas under consideration.

CDA Chairman Sohail Ashraf visited the sites on Thursday to assess ongoing development and beautification work, including improvements to roads, footpaths and parking areas, according to an official statement.

The proposed improvements have direct implications for shoppers, pedestrians and traders who depend on access to the commercial centres.

The chairman was briefed on the progress of the projects and directed the relevant departments to accelerate work, improve coordination and complete the schemes within their stipulated timelines. He also stressed compliance with approved construction standards and quality requirements.
The inspection extended to the upgradation of the National Police Academy and infrastructure improvements in the Diplomatic Enclave.
The CDA said the market-related measures were intended to improve accessibility, organise parking, upgrade footpaths and help ease traffic congestion around commercial areas.
The authority said it would continue monitoring the projects to ensure timely completion and maintain construction quality.
