ISLAMABAD, Oct 11 (APP):Federal Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Engineer Amir Muqam on Sunday welcomed the announcement of Governor’s Rule and a state of emergency in the province, terming it a step towards restoring peace, ensuring public safety and improving administrative affairs.
In a statement issued here, he said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa deserved peace, development, prosperity and good governance.
He congratulated the people of the province on what he described as their deliverance from political confrontation, unrest, conspiracies and incompetent governance.
He said those who had pursued politics against public interest must now answer for their performance and the law and order situation in the province.
Amir Muqam stressed that all attention should be focused on the complete eradication of terrorism, establishment of lasting peace and provision of immediate relief to the people.
He said the sacrifices of police and security agencies were unforgettable and called for ensuring support for the families of martyrs and medical treatment for the injured.
He maintained that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was not the personal fiefdom of any political party and that the province’s resources should be spent on public welfare.
He said education, health, employment and public development should be the priorities of the provincial government.
The minister said the Pakistan Muslim League-N would play its role in promoting peace, development, prosperity and the rule of law in the province.
He urged the public to remain peaceful, abide by the law and refrain from activities that could incite unrest.
