ISLAMABAD, Oct 11 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari, Sunday, accorded his approval to an advice of the Prime Minister regarding the security situation in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province and the promulgation of emergency.
“The President approved and signed the summary upon the Prime Minister’s advice under Articles 232 and 234 of the Constitution of Pakistan,” President Secretariat Media Wing said in a press release.
The decision came following the federal cabinet’s recommendations, formal advice from the Prime Minister, comprehensive law-and-order reports from relevant security institutions, and the breakdown of negotiations between the government delegation and the provincial leadership regarding the worsening security crisis.
