Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani Saturday departed for Pakistan after successfully attending the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) held in Arusha, Tanzania.

ISLAMABAD, Oct 10 (APP):Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani Saturday departed for Pakistan after successfully attending the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) held in Arusha, Tanzania.
At Kilimanjaro International Airport, Chairman Senate held cordial and warm interactions with Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, and the Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad of Bangladesh.
The leaders appreciated the successful conduct of the Assembly and reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing parliamentary cooperation and dialogue within the framework of the IPU.
The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral parliamentary ties, promoting peace, democracy and sustainable development through parliamentary diplomacy.
On the occasion of his departure, a gracious reception was hosted by the Serena Hotels team in honour of Chairman Senate.
A traditional cultural performance was presented by the local ensemble as a mark of respect and hospitality, which was deeply appreciated by Chairman Senate and the Pakistan delegation.
The Chairman Senate expressed his gratitude to the Government and Parliament of Tanzania and to the IPU Secretariat for the excellent arrangements and warm hospitality extended during the Assembly.
Gilani will be returning to Pakistan after a productive and successful participation at the IPU conference.
