SPA conducts 355 inspections, issues 23 warning notices

RAWALPINDI, Oct 09 (APP): Managing Director of Suthra Punjab Agency (SPA), Rawalpindi, Rana Sajid Safdar, on Friday reviewed cleanliness and anti-smog operations in Hazara Colony, Union Council 03, directing the concerned officers to improve sanitation standards and step up measures to control smog.
During the visit, he assessed ongoing cleaning activities and instructed the teams to ensure effective implementation of the anti-smog plan.
Meanwhile, the agency’s communication team conducted a cleanliness awareness campaign at local masajids, distributing pamphlets among worshippers on proper waste disposal and maintaining a clean environment. Meetings were also held with masajid imams, who were urged to help raise public awareness about cleanliness.
The Anti-Littering Squad conducted 355 inspections in Muslim Town, Sir Syed Chowk, Transformer Chowk and other areas, issuing warning notices to 23 people for violations of cleanliness regulations.
Special cleaning arrangements have also been intensified ahead of the ongoing T20 cricket series in Rawalpindi. Sanitation workers have been deployed at the cricket stadium and surrounding areas, with a focused operation underway to ensure zero waste before matches. Cleaning and sweeping activities are also being carried out along Stadium Road and adjoining routes.
As part of anti-smog measures, roads across the city are being washed to reduce dust. Rana Sajid directed the teams to utilise all available resources to maintain cleanliness, strengthen anti-smog operations and ensure effective sanitation at urban and recreational sites.
