MULTAN, Oct 09 (APP):Commissioner Aamir Kareem Khan directed the concerned departments to complete all remaining development work and ensure the full operationalisation of the Model Graveyard in Multan, with a focus on providing comprehensive facilities to visitors.
Chairing a review meeting here on Friday, the commissioner stressed that the existing infrastructure should be made fully functional and instructed the authorities to complete grave marking, pathway planning and other essential infrastructure on a priority basis.
He directed the officials to make the existing facility for bathing the deceased fully operational by ensuring adequate lighting and water supply. He also called for a comprehensive plan to activate the cold storage facility.
Emphasizing the need for proper maintenance and cleanliness, the commissioner ordered arrangements for uninterrupted electricity and water supply, along with an effective sanitation system. He further directed the authorities to undertake shade tree plantation in vacant spaces and develop a green belt with trees along the graveyard’s boundary.
To facilitate people visiting the graveyard for funeral prayers and burials, he also instructed the installation of benches at appropriate locations.
