ATH advances digital governance with paperless compliance system

ABBOTTABAD, Oct 09 (APP):Ayub Teaching Hospital (ATH) has taken a significant step towards transparent governance and administrative efficiency by introducing a digital compliance and monitoring system aimed at improving accountability, ensuring timely implementation of official directives, and reducing paperwork.
The initiative has been launched under the directions of the Board of Governors and the supervision of Hospital Director Dr. Sajjad Ahmed Afridi.
Deputy Director Information Technology Engineer, Shehryar Ali, and his team organized a comprehensive training session to familiarize relevant officials with the system and its practical applications.
During the session, participants were briefed on the system’s key features, operational procedures, and mechanisms for monitoring the progress of assigned tasks. The platform is designed to record official instructions, administrative decisions and responsibilities in a centralized electronic system, enabling authorities to track progress and ensure completion within prescribed deadlines.
The system will allow administrative officers, department heads, unit supervisors, and other relevant staff to monitor assigned tasks more effectively. It will also provide the Board of Governors and hospital administration with updated reports on completed, pending, delayed and urgent matters, facilitating timely decisions and improving institutional oversight.
The digital platform is expected to strengthen transparency, accountability and performance evaluation while reducing dependence on conventional files, paperwork and repeated manual reminders. It will also help the administration assess compliance with official directives and identify matters requiring immediate attention.
The initiative forms part of Ayub Teaching Hospital’s broader digital transformation programme, which aims to replace traditional paper-based procedures with secure, efficient and modern electronic systems.
As part of these efforts, work is also underway to automate the hospital’s Institution-Based Practice (IBP) clinics. The proposed system will integrate patient appointment scheduling, specialist doctors’ working hours, electronic bookings, reception management and other related services into a unified digital platform.
Meanwhile, the hospital’s official website, internal administrative systems and other key departments are also being gradually upgraded with modern digital facilities.
The broader objective is to establish a modern, transparent and paperless healthcare institution where administrative decisions, staff responsibilities, performance monitoring and patient services are managed efficiently through technology and reliable information.
The Board of Governors’ vision of digital governance is expected to improve institutional efficiency, strengthen accountability and contribute to better healthcare services for patients and the public. Ayub Teaching Hospital is continuing its efforts to modernize administrative operations and improve its overall performance
