LAHORE,Oct 09 (APP):Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) Virtual Women Police Station (VWPS) provided immediate assistance and legal guidance to women in 41,903 cases during September 2026,ensuring support for victims of harassment, gender-based crimes and violence.
According to a PSCA spokesperson,1,916 cases were registered over various crimes against women, while inquiries into 248 cases were under way.
The spokesperson said 20,572 cases of domestic violence were reported during the month,of which 20,107 were resolved with the assistance of the PSCA.
He said the VWPS was committed to protecting women and ensuring access to justice through a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment and crimes against women.
The facility provided guidance to victims at every stage, from registration of first information reports (FIRs) to investigation and trial,the spokesperson added.
He said post-FIR follow-up services,a case-tracking portal and assistance regarding FIRs were also available to facilitate affected women.
Women could share their complaints with the VWPS without disclosing their names or addresses,he said,adding that women from across Punjab were contacting the facility daily for assistance and legal guidance.
The spokesperson said women could seek help through emergency helpline 15 and the live chat and video call features of the Women Safety App.
He urged women facing harassment,domestic violence or any emergency to dial 15 and press 2 to contact the Virtual Women Police Station.
