RDA moves towards zero-paper policy, directs strict compliance with EFOAS

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has decided to move towards a zero-paper policy and directed all its directorates and officers to ensure strict compliance with the Electronic File and Office Automation System (EFOAS).

RAWALPINDI, Oct 08 (APP): The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has decided to move towards a zero-paper policy and directed all its directorates and officers to ensure strict compliance with the Electronic File and Office Automation System (EFOAS).
According to the RDA spokesman,a meeting was held at the RDA Conference Room to review implementation of the policy and effective use of EFOAS. Directors, senior officers and concerned staff from various directorates attended the meeting.
The participants reviewed the existing system of official correspondence and file processing and discussed measures for a smooth transition to paperless administrative operations.
Under the directions of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and RDA Director General Salman Ghani, all official letters, Put Up Cases (PUCs), files and other correspondence required to be processed by the Administration Directorate will be initiated, forwarded and processed through EFOAS in accordance with the prescribed procedure.
Official correspondence will not be submitted to the Administration Directorate through any means other than the prescribed electronic system. All directorates and officers have been directed to ensure timely submission and processing of their official business through EFOAS.
The meeting noted that the zero-paper policy would improve efficiency, transparency, accountability and timely disposal of official business while reducing paperwork and streamlining the Authority’s administrative workflow.
Effective use of EFOAS will also provide a digital trail of official proceedings, facilitate real-time tracking of files and enable officers to monitor the movement and status of cases through the electronic system.
Director Administration Nosheen Israr said the concerned directorate and officer would be responsible for timely submission, processing and disposal of letters, PUCs and files through EFOAS. Any delay caused by non-submission, late submission or improper processing through the prescribed system would be the responsibility of the concerned directorate or officer.
She directed all directorates, officers and staff to implement the instructions in letter and spirit and extend full cooperation for immediate implementation of the zero-paper policy.
