PESHAWAR, Oct 08 (APP):The Peshawar High Court on Thursday sought a response from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi over an application alleging the use of government resources for political activities and an ongoing protest long march.
A two-member bench headed by Chief Justice SM Attiq Shah heard the petition filed by PML-N MPA Qari Zahir.
The petitioner contended that the PHC had barred the use of government resources for political activities in a judgment issued in November 2025.
He alleged that CM Sohail Afridi had travelled to Lakki Marwat in a government helicopter on Oct 4 to join the launch of the protest long march.
The petitioner asked the court to take notice of the alleged use of official resources during the march and seek explanations from those responsible.
The court issued a notice to the CM and sought his response on the matter. Further proceedings would be determined after submission of the response.
The petition also referred to an incident in October 2024, alleging that more than 10 government vehicles and 47 officials were taken into custody by Punjab Police during a protest march towards Islamabad during the tenure of former CM Ali Amin Gandapur.
