QUETTA, Oct 07 (APP): A delegation from the Youth Leaders Parliament, led by Asmatullah called on Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail on Wednesday.
The meeting focused on familiarizing the youth with parliamentary affairs, the democratic process, and policy-making, as well as discussing the establishment and further activation of an effective platform for the youth in the province.
The delegation briefed the Governor on the organizational structure, aims, and objectives of the Youth Leaders Parliament.
According to the delegation, the Youth Leaders Parliament is modeled after Pakistan’s elected parliament, its purpose is to provide young people with practical insight into parliamentary procedures, legislation, debate, and the functioning of democratic institutions.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor of Balochistan remarked that the youth are the country’s valuable asset, and raising their awareness regarding decision-making, democratic values, and the parliamentary system is a vital need of the hour.
He said that providing youth with opportunities for positive and constructive dialogue on political and social issues enables them to play the role of responsible citizens and visionary leaders in the future.
The Governor directed the Youth Leaders Parliament to make the platform more active and dynamic across Balochistan and to expand its scope to various districts of the province.
He also emphasized the importance of organizing training programs, debates, mock sessions, and study activities to foster leadership, research, dialogue, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills among the youth.
Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail said that youth should be provided opportunities to voice their opinions on the province’s educational, economic, social, and developmental issues, and to gain an understanding of the policy-making process.
The Youth Leaders Parliament can offer young people a platform to debate issues across various sectors, formulate proposals, and collaboratively seek solutions, he said.
The Governor remarked that the youth of Balochistan possess immense creative potential, what is needed is to provide them with proper guidance, training, and the necessary opportunities.
He emphasized the importance of involving educational institutions, youth organizations, and civil society in the activities of the Youth Leaders Parliament.
The delegation also briefed the Governor on the future activities of the Youth Leaders Parliament and the strategy for expanding its network across the province.
