Foreign buyers show keen interest in Pakistani handmade carpets

Foreign buyers from various countries expressed extraordinary interest in Pakistani handmade carpets at the 42nd World Exhibition being held in collaboration with Trade Development Authority Pakistan (TDAP) and Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA).

LAHORE, Oct 07 (APP): Foreign buyers from various countries expressed extraordinary interest in Pakistani handmade carpets at the 42nd World Exhibition being held in collaboration with Trade Development Authority Pakistan (TDAP) and Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA).
Export deals were also signed at the expo being held at a local hotel. Buyers from various countries including the United States, Germany, Turkey, China, Russia, Sweden, and Indonesia visited the stalls set up at the exhibition and appreciated the high quality, unique designs, and craftsmanship of Pakistani carpets.
Foreign buyers held one-on-one meetings with Pakistani manufacturers and exporters in which detailed discussions were held on ways to further expand business ties, access new markets, future joint business opportunities, and changing trends in the global market.
On this occasion, Chairman Exhibition Muhammad Riaz and Senior Vice Chairman Khawaja Mir Mudassar briefed the foreign buyers about the Pakistani handmade carpet industry, product quality, designs, production capacity and the importance of Pakistani carpets in the global market. They told the foreign buyers that Pakistani craftsmen are producing high-quality handmade carpets by adapting centuries-old traditional crafts with modern requirements and global trends. They also informed the buyers about the different types, designs and outstanding aspects of craftsmanship of Pakistani carpets.
The foreign buyers appreciated the expertise of Pakistani craftsmen and the quality of the products and said that the carpets displayed in the exhibition are in line with the requirements of the global market. The prospects of further strengthening business ties between buyers and Pakistani exporters and increasing exports were also discussed.
PCMEA Patron-in-Chief Abdul Latif Malik, Chairperson Carpet Training Institute Ijaz-ur-Rehman, Mian Atiq-ur-Rehman, Saeed Khan, Usman Ashraf, Major (R) Akhtar Nazir, Sikandar Hassan, Faisal Saeed Khan and others were also present.
