HYDERABAD, Oct 06 (APP):Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Division Ghulam Qadir Khan Talpur has taken notice of traffic accidents occurring during the ongoing rehabilitation and construction work on the Moro-Ranipur section of National Highway N-5 and, expressing concern particularly over incidents involving loss of life, has called an important meeting of the relevant departments on October 7, 2026, at the Commissioner Office, Shaheed Benazirabad.
Deputy Commissioner Naushahro Feroze, Senior Superintendent of Police Naushahro Feroze, Superintendent of Motorway Police Sakrand, General Manager (EFAP) of National Highway Authority, representatives of Moro Bypass Camp and the Chinese construction company have been directed to attend the meeting.
The meeting will review current status of the ongoing rehabilitation and construction work on Moro-Ranipur section of N-5, the approved time-line, reasons for delays in work, traffic management at construction sites, diversions and barriers, warning signs, reflectors, lighting and other safety arrangements.
Measures taken to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of passengers, details of recent accidents in affected section and safety measures adopted following those incidents will also be discussed.
The deployment and coordination of traffic and security personnel with the Motorway Police and district administration will also be reviewed. Meeting will also consider proposals for expediting the remaining construction work, improving road safety and preventing further accidents.
The National Highway Authority and the construction company have been directed to present records of the current progress, work schedule, photographs of the construction activities and all relevant information, including proposed corrective measures for preventing accidents.
