RAWALPINDI, Oct 06 (APP): Rawalpindi Police have devised a comprehensive security and traffic plan for the Pak Sri Lanaka T-20 cricket series and practice sessions on the directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera.
According to police officials, around 6,000 police officers and personnel have been deployed to perform security and traffic duties around the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium and other designated locations.
CPO Sukhera said senior police officers were personally monitoring security arrangements in the field, checking deployment points and briefing personnel to ensure effective performance of their duties.
He said snipers had been deployed on rooftops while the situation was being continuously monitored through Safe City and other CCTV cameras. A special control room has also been established to oversee surveillance and coordinate security measures.
Police mobiles, Elite Force and Dolphin Squad personnel are conducting regular patrolling around the stadium and adjoining areas to maintain security and respond promptly to any situation.
The CPO said effective traffic management arrangements had also been made to facilitate citizens and ensure smooth movement of traffic during the cricket activities.
“Foolproof security and traffic arrangements are being ensured for the match,” CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera said, adding that senior officers were closely supervising the arrangements to ensure the safety and convenience of players, spectators and citizens.
