SC grants bail to murder accused, makes remarks on false FIRs

ISLAMABAD, Oct 06 (APP): The Supreme Court has granted bail to murder accused Manzoor Hussain, observing that false registration of first information reports (FIRs) can result in accused persons being acquitted.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail heard the case.
During the hearing, Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan observed that the system was blamed when accused persons secured bail, whereas they were often acquitted because of false FIRs. “The system is still working,” he remarked. Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail observed that police played the key role in the registration of false FIRs.
After examining the facts and circumstances of the case, the court granted bail to Manzoor Hussain.
