Governor Sindh attends oath-taking ceremony of Pakistan Film & TV Journalists Welfare Association

KARACHI, Oct 05 (APP):Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi attended the oath-taking ceremony of the Pakistan Film and TV Journalists Welfare Association as the chief guest at the Karachi Press Club on Monday.
Chairman of the Pakistan Film and TV Journalists Welfare Association Wasi Qureshi and other office-bearers welcomed the Sindh Governor. Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi congratulated the newly elected office-bearers.
At the request of the Sindh Governor, senior journalist Mahmood Sham administered the oath to the newly elected office-bearers, including President Dr Huma Mir, Vice Presidents Muhammad Nasir and Sarwat Jabeen, General Secretary Syed Muhammad Ghous, Joint Secretaries Syed Karam Ali Shah and Sehar Hussain, Treasurer Naeem Habib, Information Secretary Waseem Khan, Social Secretary Mustafa Mallah, and eight members of the Governing Body.
Chairman Ather Jawed Sufi and Vice Chairman Abdul Wasee Qureshi of the Pakistan Film and TV Journalists Association were also present at the oath-taking ceremony.
On the occasion, Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi said that the media plays an important role in the development of any society and in projecting its positive image. He said the media, particularly film and TV journalists, has a vital role in preserving civilisation and culture.
He further said that in the digital age, the responsibilities of the media have increased.
