LHC orders lower court to wrap up 10-year-old Faizan’s murder trial within two months

RAWALPINDI, Oct 05 (APP): Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan of the Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi Bench directed the trial court to complete judicial proceedings and issue a final verdict within two months in the torture-murder case of 10-year-old seminary student Faizan Sultan.
Hearing a bail cancellation petition against nominated accused Haji Sharif, petitioner’s counsel Waqas Kiyani argued that the influential suspect obtained bail from a lower court despite concealing the severe physical torture inflicted on the child and withholding timely medical treatment.
Ten-year-old Faizan succumbed to his injuries after being held inside the Kallar Syedan seminary for six days, with police lodging a criminal case only after torture marks were discovered on his body during pre-funeral rites.
