ISLAMABAD, Oct 05 (APP):Secretary Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) Jamil Ahmed Qureshi, on Monday, held a meeting with Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan, Timothy Kane, and Political-Economic Secretary, Jaeger Koniundaris, to discuss avenues for expanding trade and investment ties between Pakistan and Australia.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral economic engagement through increased investment, trade and business partnerships, with particular emphasis on leveraging Pakistan’s growing potential across key sectors.
The participants explored opportunities for greater commercial interaction and enhanced linkages between the business communities of both countries.
The Secretary SIFC highlighted the Council’s role as a whole-of-government platform for facilitating foreign investment, improving institutional coordination and connecting international investors with viable opportunities in Pakistan.
He briefed the Australian side on SIFC’s investor-centric facilitation framework and its efforts to support a conducive environment for business and investment.
The discussion also underscored the potential for Australian investors and companies to explore Pakistan’s priority sectors and develop mutually beneficial commercial partnerships. Greater engagement between the private sectors was
identified as an important avenue for translating investment opportunities into sustainable economic cooperation.
