IHC adjourns PTI founder’s appeal in 190m pounds case

ISLAMABAD, Oct 05 (APP): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday adjourned the hearing of appeals against the conviction of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) founder and his wife Bushra Bibi in the 190 million pound case indefinitely.
A two-member bench headed by Chief Justice Sardar Sarfraz Dogar heard the appeals. Barrister Salman Safdar appeared before the court.
Salman Safdar raised the issue of road closures before the court, saying, “I managed to reach the court, but Latif Khosa could not reach today.” He said they approach the next forum if they do not get relief from this court.
Salman Safdar said NAB had sought adjournments in 16 hearings, and that a request for suspension of sentence on behalf of Bushra Bibi was filed in the Federal Constitutional Court on April 30, with an early hearing request filed on September 17.
He said he had filed a petition in the Federal Constitutional Court against the court order, and that his case would be fixed in the Federal Constitutional Court next week. “If hearings on the appeals begin here, that petition will become ineffective,” he argued.
Salman Safdar said that his meeting with Bushra Bibi has not taken place since December 2025. He requested that a meeting be arranged. The court adjourned the hearing of the case indefinitely.
