Pakistan-Romania business delegation explores energy, trade cooperation
ISLAMABAD, Oct 05 (APP):A trade delegation of the Pakistan-Romania Business Council (PRBC) visited the Prahova Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI Prahova) in Ploiesti, Romania, to explore opportunities for strengthening bilateral trade and energy cooperation.
Head of the delegation and Honorary Consul Designate of Romania in Sindh, Atif Farooqi met President CCI Prahova, Marius Marinescu during the visit. Chairman PRBC and Deputy Head of the delegation Sohail Shamim Firpo also accompanied him, said a PRBC press release received here.
The meeting focused on strengthening institutional and commercial linkages between Pakistan and Romania, particularly through the proposed Ploiesti-Karachi Energy Bridge.
The proposed framework aims to link Prahova’s expertise in oil and gas, refining, petrochemicals, industrial engineering, energy services and equipment manufacturing with Pakistan’s growing energy, industrial, infrastructure and commercial requirements.
The delegation also acknowledged the support of Ambassador of Romania to Pakistan Dr. Dan Stoenescu, whose guidance, it said, had contributed to promoting institutional engagement, business connectivity and trade dialogue between the two countries.
The discussions also explored the possibility of developing a cooperation framework between PRBC and CCI Prahova, covering exchange of business information, facilitation of trade delegations, targeted business-to-business engagements, sector-specific business forums and identification of potential commercial partners.
President Marius Marinescu welcomed the delegation and appreciated the initiative to strengthen business ties between Prahova and Pakistan.
The participants noted that business institutions at the local and regional levels could play an important role in expanding bilateral trade and creating new opportunities for companies in both countries.
The PRBC delegation thanked the CCI Prahova leadership for its hospitality and constructive engagement.
The visit was described as a step towards developing long-term cooperation between Pakistan and Romania in energy, industrial collaboration, trade facilitation and business-to-business relations.
