ISLAMABAD, Oct 05 (APP):As part of the ongoing anti-begging campaign, the City Assistant Commissioner Maheen Hassan on Monday conducted operations against professional beggars and shifted 12 individuals to the lockup.
The action was taken to curb organized begging and maintain public order in the federal capital.
According to the district administration, the operation was carried out under the anti-begging drive being implemented across different areas of the city. During the crackdown, 12 professional beggars were identified and taken into custody before being transferred to the lockup for legal proceedings.
Officials said the campaign is aimed at discouraging professional begging and addressing complaints from residents regarding the growing presence of beggars in public places. The administration is continuing inspections and enforcement actions in various parts of the city as part of the ongoing effort.
