KARACHI, Oct 02 (APP): The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has commenced construction of an important road connecting Degree College to 19-D Road in Baldia Town. Upon completion, the project will help address transportation difficulties faced by local residents and contribute to resolving their everyday civic problems.
The Mayor Karachi said that the KMC was undertaking various initiatives to provide basic civic facilities and improve road infrastructure across different areas of the city. He stated that the construction of this key road in Baldia Town would help reduce the difficulties faced by the local population and provide citizens with improved commuting facilities.
He said that development work was continuing across all areas of Karachi without discrimination. Providing better transportation facilities and resolving citizens’ everyday problems remained among the key priorities of KMC. The relevant departments had been directed to ensure that development projects progressed in accordance with the prescribed quality standards so that citizens could benefit from their outcomes.
The Mayor further stated that KMC was continuing its efforts to promote recreational facilities and increase green spaces across the city. In this regard, the construction of another park in the Masjid Hasanat Park, Quetta Town, UC-2, Sohrab Goth area, has reached its final stages and will soon be opened to the public.
Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that providing citizens with a healthy and pleasant environment was among the priorities of the KMC. Neighbourhood parks not only provide children with spaces to play and families with opportunities for recreation but also play an important role in promoting greenery and improving the urban environment.
He said that attention was being given to the rehabilitation of parks and the development of new recreational spaces in different parts of Karachi so that residents could enjoy better recreational facilities close to their homes. The park being constructed in Sohrab Goth would soon be opened to the public, providing residents of the area, particularly children and families, with a better place for recreation.
Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that maintaining the pace of ongoing development work in Karachi and ensuring its continuity in the future remained the real challenge. The KMC would continue its efforts for the city’s development and take further measures to ensure the provision of improved municipal facilities to citizens.
He emphasized that, alongside initiating development projects, it was equally important to complete them in accordance with the prescribed standards and ensure that their benefits reached the public.
The KMC was committed to maintaining continuity in ongoing work relating to roads, parks and other essential civic facilities so that Karachi’s residents could experience a tangible improvement in their daily lives.
He further stated that Karachi’s development was a continuous process requiring sustained attention, effective planning and coordinated efforts by all relevant departments. Development activities across the city would continue, and the KMC would remain committed to providing better facilities to the people of Karachi.
