PNCA organizes Educational Puppetry Workshop for NCA students
Rawalpindi, Oct 02 (APP): The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) organized an interactive rod puppetry workshop and live performance for students of the National College of Arts (NCA), Rawalpindi Campus, at the National Puppet Theatre Hall.
The workshop, titled “Introduction to Puppetry Art: Making and Handling of Rod Puppets,” aimed to introduce students to the fundamental techniques of puppetry and provide hands-on experience in puppet making and manipulation.
Led by PNCA Puppet Expert Syed Masroor Ali Shah and a team of master puppeteers, the session enabled NCA students to explore the mechanics of rod puppets and learn how to synchronize their movements with dialogue, theatrical timing and dance sequences.
The interactive workshop was followed by a live puppet performance by the PNCA team, showcasing traditional and contemporary puppetry techniques.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Masroor Ali Shah said PNCA remained committed to reviving and preserving the traditional art of puppetry in Pakistan.
He said the educational workshops aimed not only to keep this cultural art form alive among young generations but also to use storytelling as an effective medium for promoting positive social, economic and moral awareness.
The National Puppet Theatre regularly organizes educational workshops and cultural outreach programmes for schools and colleges across the region to encourage artistic expression and promote social awareness through visual theatre.
