ISLAMABAD, Oct 02 (APP): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday directed federal police to take measures to provide security to a lady doctor facing threats of eviction from her home, while issuing notices to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and Station House Officer (SHO) Humak Police Station to submit replies.
Justice Khadim Hussain Somro issued the directions during the hearing of a petition filed by Lady Doctor Nazhat Shakoor.
During the hearing, petitioner Dr. Nazhat Shakoor appeared before the court in person and stated that influential persons wanted to occupy their six-kanal property in Westridge, Rawalpindi. She said the influential persons were harassing her, had her removed from her job, and that mob regularly stormed and harassed her at her home.
Justice Khadim Hussain Somro inquired where her house was located and falls under jurisdiction of which police station.
The petitioner told the court that she was forced to live in a flat in the capital, while her home was in Rawalpindi, falling under Humak police station limits. She said she had also submitted an application to the Inspector General of Police Islamabad.
Justice Khadim Hussain Somro summoned the Assistant Attorney General present in the courtroom to the rostrum and instructed AG to inform the SSP and the concerned SHO to provide her security.
The court adjourned the hearing with directions to provide security and protection to the lady doctor.
