QUETTA, Oct 01 (APP): Balochsitan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Thursday that providing quality medical facilities to the people of Balochistan is among the government’s top priorities.
He said that positive results from ongoing health sector reforms and improvements in medical facilities at government hospitals in Balochistan are becoming evident, ordinary citizens and Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs) alike are now seeking treatment at these public hospitals.
A successful angioplasty was performed on Mir Rahmat Saleh Baloch—an MPA and former Provincial Health Minister at the Cardiology Department of Civil Sandeman Provincial Hospital, Quetta.
Expressing satisfaction with the medical facilities provided at the hospital, Mir Rahmat Saleh Baloch noted that the availability of quality healthcare is sparing the people of Balochistan the hardship and extra expense of traveling to other cities for treatment.
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, accompanied by National Party chief Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch visited Civil Sandman Provincial Hospital to inquire after the health of the hospitalized MPA, Mir Rahmat Saleh Baloch.
The Chief Minister also consulted the doctors regarding Mir Rahmat Saleh Baloch’s condition.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti stated that providing quality medical facilities to the people of Balochistan is among the government’s top priorities.
Writing on the social media platform X, the Chief Minister said that the primary objective of the ongoing health sector reforms is to relieve the province’s residents of the need to travel to other cities for medical treatment.
He added that practical measures are underway to provide modern medical facilities and improve the standard of treatment in government hospitals.
He said that the government is striving to ensure that major hospitals in the province are equipped with medical centers and facilities capable of treating complex ailments locally.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that the government is taking measures to restore public confidence in government hospitals through reforms in the health sector.
He mentioned that the government aims for every citizen of Balochistan to benefit from timely and quality medical treatment within the province, eliminating the need to travel to Quetta or outside the province for care.
The Chief Minister remarked that improving the health sector is an ongoing process, and the government is utilizing available resources to provide better medical facilities to the public.
“Efforts will continue to enhance medical equipment, diagnostic facilities, emergency services, and treatment capabilities for various diseases in government hospitals”, he said.
He said that the successful angioplasty of Mir Rahmat Saleh Baloch at Civil Sandeman Provincial Hospital, and his subsequent expression of satisfaction with the treatment received, reflect that the ongoing initiatives to improve medical facilities in government hospitals are beginning to yield results.
