ISLAMABAD, Oct 01 (APP): The two-day Global Mental Health summit 2026 commenced on Thursday with participation of health experts, policymakers, mental health professionals and representatives of international organizations to discuss challenges and strengthen mental health services.
The summit features science-based discussions on mental health, with experts emphasizing the importance of evidence-based approaches, prevention, timely support and access to quality mental healthcare.
On first day participants highlighted that mental health was essential to building healthy and prosperous societies and stressed the need for coordinated efforts among government institutions, healthcare professionals and development partners.
The summit also provides a platform to discuss practical measures for strengthening mental health systems and translating scientific evidence into effective policies and services in Pakistan.
