RAWALPINDI, Oct 01 (APP):The Horticulture Agency Rawalpindi is continuing a tree plantation campaign in graveyards across the city to enhance greenery, beautify the surroundings and improve the urban environment.
According to the agency, plantation activities are being carried out on the special directions of Managing Director Ahmed Hassan Ranjha. Horticulture teams are identifying suitable locations in graveyards and planting different varieties of plants and trees.
The teams are also focusing on regular watering, maintenance and protection of newly planted saplings to ensure their healthy growth.
The Managing Director said trees and plants played an important role in improving the environment by providing shade, reducing heat and enhancing the beauty of urban areas.
He said plantation in graveyards was a positive initiative aimed at making these sacred places greener, cleaner and more peaceful.
He directed the concerned officers and field teams to ensure proper care of plants in graveyards and other green areas and undertake timely horticultural activities.
The agency also urged citizens to cooperate with its staff and help protect trees and saplings from damage.
