ISLAMABAD, Oct 01 (APP): Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani Thursday extended his heartfelt congratulations to Fatima Zahra El Mansouri on her appointment as Morocco’s first female Prime Minister and conveyed his best wishes for her success in office.
In his message of felicitation, the Chairman Senate described her appointment as a significant milestone in Morocco’s political history and an important recognition of women’s role in political leadership and public service.
He expressed confidence that, with her experience and leadership, she would make a meaningful contribution to Morocco’s continued development, prosperity and public welfare.
Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani recalled that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was the first woman Prime Minister of Pakistan and of the Muslim world, and had made an enduring contribution to democracy and public service.
He said the appointment of Morocco’s first woman Prime Minister was another significant development for women’s political participation in the Muslim world.
He noted that Pakistan and Morocco enjoyed longstanding fraternal relations, rooted in mutual respect, shared values and close parliamentary and people-to-people ties.
He expressed confidence that bilateral relations, particularly parliamentary cooperation, would be further strengthened during the tenure of the new government.
The Chairman Senate conveyed his best wishes for peace, progress and prosperity to the government and people of the Kingdom of Morocco.
