ISLAMABAD, Oct 01 (APP):The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Thursday said Pakistan had conducted precision aerial strikes against terrorist hideouts and safe havens at two locations in Afghanistan, killing 22 terrorists, according to initial reports.
In a post on social media platform X, the ministry said the strikes were carried out in continuation of Operation Ghazab lil Haq and Pakistan’s resolve to eliminate terrorists, their networks and supporters.
It said the operation was based on credible intelligence and targeted hideouts and camps belonging to Fitna al Khwarij, Fitna al Hindustan and their affiliates.
The ministry said the targets were destroyed with precision and accuracy, adding that large quantities of weapons and ammunition stored at the hideouts were also destroyed.
Pakistan had always strived for peace and stability in the region, the ministry said, adding that the safety and security of its citizens remained the foremost priority.
“It is a matter of grave concern that Afghanistan continues to remain a hub of terrorism,” the ministry said, adding that the threat to Pakistan emanated from Afghanistan.
It said maximum precautions had been taken during the operation to ensure that no collateral damage occurred.
The ministry said Pakistan’s counterterrorism campaign, Operation Ghazab lil Haq, being conducted by the security forces and law enforcement agencies under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, would continue at full pace to eliminate foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
