Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Wednesday inaugurated the Hayatabad Toll Plaza underpass, a Rs1.6 billion project completed in 90 days to improve traffic flow between De Tour Road on the Bara side and Ring Road.

PESHAWAR, Sep 30 (APP): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Wednesday inaugurated the Hayatabad Toll Plaza underpass, a Rs1.6 billion project completed in 90 days to improve traffic flow between De Tour Road on the Bara side and Ring Road.
The 500-metre-long underpass, including a 130-metre barrel, has two lanes and 665 piles. It is designed to provide a direct route for traffic from De Tour Road towards Ring Road and ease congestion at the Hayatabad Toll Plaza and adjoining roads.
The project is expected to reduce unnecessary traffic stoppages and delays, facilitate smoother movement of vehicles and improve traffic management in Hayatabad and surrounding areas.
Its completion will also help reduce traffic pressure in the area and save commuters’ time by providing a more direct route towards Ring Road.
Members of the provincial cabinet, including Meena Khan Afridi, Shafi Jan, Mian Umar Kakakhel and Adil Iqbal, attended the inauguration ceremony along with members of the National Assembly, including Junaid Akbar and Asif Khan, other elected parliamentarians from Peshawar, party leaders and a large number of citizens.
