PHC grants pre-arrest bail to Kamran Bangash in Radio Pakistan attack case

PESHAWAR, Sep 30 (APP): The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Wednesday granted pre-arrest bail to former provincial minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Kamran Bangash in the Radio Pakistan attack case.

Chief Justice S.M. Atiq Shah heard the petition, with Barrister Zafar and Advocate Inam Yousafzai appearing on behalf of Kamran Bangash.

During the hearing, Advocate Inam Yousafzai told the court that his client had been nominated in the Radio Pakistan attack case and apprehended arrest, prompting him to seek pre-arrest bail.

The chief justice asked the lawyer whether he was still appearing for the petitioner despite having been removed from the Advocate General’s (AG) Office.

He remarked that an official, who was capable of doing the job, had also been removed from the AG Office.

Responding to the remarks, Advocate Inam Yousafzai said they had been removed after refusing to pay extortion.

The chief justice questioned the government’s claims of clean and transparent governance in light of the lawyer’s allegation.

After hearing the arguments, the PHC accepted Kamran Bangash’s petition for pre-arrest bail in the case.
