Balochistan CM calls on Punjab governor, discusses inter-provincial relations, development

LAHORE, Sep 30 (APP): Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti called on Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan at Governor’s House here on Wednesday.

The meeting discussed the overall situation in the country, inter-provincial relations, law and order, development projects and matters of public interest.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said Balochistan was an integral part of Pakistan and its development and prosperity were closely linked with the progress of the entire country. He said the people of Balochistan had deep affection for their province and the country, adding that balanced development of all four provinces was essential for national progress.

The governor said the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government had initiated development projects in Balochistan. He said the PPP believed in public service and had consistently struggled for the rights of the people. He added that the essence of politics was serving the people and resolving their issues in practical terms. He also expressed confidence in the political prospects of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in the upcoming elections. The governor commended the security forces for their successful operations against terrorists in Balochistan.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said the people and security forces of Balochistan had rendered immense sacrifices for establishing peace in the province. He said Balochistan was moving towards progress and development. He added that certain anti-state elements were attempting to create unrest and chaos in the province, but they would never succeed in their designs.

The chief minister also appreciated Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan for opening Governor House Lahore to the public and commended his efforts for serving the people.
