ISLAMABAD, Sep 29 (APP): The 4th Technical Working Group (TWG) meeting on HIV and Hepatitis C was held at the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination to review measures for disease prevention, infection control and safe healthcare practices.
The meeting discussed key areas including HIV and Hepatitis C prevention, infection prevention and control (IPC), and healthcare waste management.
District Health Officer Islamabad Dr Syeda Rashida Batool shared updates on the situation in Islamabad, highlighting ongoing measures related to Hepatitis C prevention, IPC, healthcare waste management and other public health initiatives.
She briefed the participants on efforts to strengthen disease prevention, surveillance and safe healthcare practices in the federal capital.
The meeting also reviewed measures to improve coordination and strengthen implementation of public health interventions related to HIV and Hepatitis C.
Participants emphasized the importance of effective infection prevention and control practices and proper healthcare waste management to reduce health risks and prevent the spread of infections.
The TWG meeting provided a platform for reviewing progress, identifying areas requiring further attention and strengthening coordinated efforts for improved public health outcomes.
