The State Bank of Pakistan, Tuesday, informed that all branches of commercial banks will remain open until 10:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, in order to facilitate taxpayers in payment of Government duties and taxes.
Banks to observe extended working hours on September 30 to facilitate tax collection
KARACHI, Sep 29 (APP): The State Bank of Pakistan, Tuesday, informed that all branches of commercial banks will remain open until 10:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, in order to facilitate taxpayers in payment of Government duties and taxes.
The central bank, in a statement issued here, informed that the decision has been taken on the request of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to facilitate taxpayers in making over the counter (OTC) payment of Government duties and taxes and “all branches of commercial banks shall observe extended working hours until 10:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.”
To facilitate the online payment of Government duties and taxes, the banks were also directed to ensure uninterrupted availability of their online payment channels- internet banking, mobile applications, ATMs, and other digital platforms.
SBP, also advised the banks to keep their concerned branches open on September 30, 2026, for as long as required to facilitate the Special Clearing for Government transactions conducted by NIFT.
