KARACHI, Sep 29 (APP): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Javed Alam Odho has sought an immediate and detailed report from the DIGP Hyderabad regarding a video allegedly showing CIA police personnel receiving a bribe in Thatta.
The IGP directed the DIGP Hyderabad to conduct a transparent, impartial and merit-based inquiry into the incident and submit a comprehensive report based on the facts.
He further directed that if the allegations were proved correct, the personnel involved should face strict action in accordance with the law and departmental rules.
Javed Alam Odho said corruption, bribery and misuse of authority would not be tolerated in the Sindh Police.
He said every police officer and official was bound to abide by the law, maintain integrity and demonstrate responsible behaviour towards citizens.
The IGP said there was no room for corrupt elements in the police department and directed that indiscriminate action be ensured against such personnel.
