ABBOTTABAD, Sep 29 (APP): A specialized medical team of the Department of Orthopedics at Ayub Teaching Hospital has successfully performed a complex hand replantation surgery, described as the first of its kind in the medical history of Hazara Division.
According to hospital sources, Muhammad Saeed, a resident of Havelian, suffered complete amputation of his hand after it was caught in a saw machine. He was shifted to Ayub Teaching Hospital in critical condition.
The orthopedic surgical team performed a several-hour-long complex operation to reattach the severed hand. Following the surgery, movement has started returning to the patient’s hand, indicating a positive initial response to the procedure.
The successful surgery marks a significant medical achievement for Ayub Teaching Hospital and reflects the expertise of its medical team and the availability of advanced surgical facilities for complex cases.
The procedure is also expected to provide patients across Hazara Division with greater access to specialised treatment without having to travel to major cities for such complex surgeries.
