Governor Mandokhail visits Quetta Chamber, stresses traders’ role in national economy

QUETTA, Sep 29 (APP): Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has said that traders and industrialists are the backbone of the country’s economic system, adding that serving the business community is in fact serving the nation.

He noted that through their enterprises, traders not only contribute significantly to the national exchequer in the form of taxes but also generate thousands of employment opportunities.

Speaking at the annual general meeting of the Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI), Governor Jaffar Mandokhail congratulated newly elected President Ahmed Gul Kakar, Senior Vice President Mirza Khan Khilji, and other cabinet members.

He expressed hope that the new leadership would play an effective role in resolving the issues of Balochistan’s business community and in promoting economic activities across the province.

The meeting was attended by QCCI’s Patron-in-Chief Ghulam Farooq Khilji, along with representatives of traders and industrialists.

The Governor highlighted that the activities of the business community keep commercial markets and economic flows active nationwide. He praised their hard work and lawful earnings, which not only secure the future of their families but also strengthen the national economy.

Jaffar Mandokhail pointed out that travel difficulties on national highways have had the most negative impact on traders.

He stressed that maintaining peace and security in the province is the government’s foremost priority, and assured that both political dialogue and practical measures will be taken to ensure safe and uninterrupted travel.

Referring to Balochistan’s long borders with Afghanistan and Iran, the Governor said that regional tensions have also affected the province’s economy. He warned that any disruption to business activities directly impacts the provincial economy, and therefore resolving traders’ issues remains a government priority.

Governor Jaffar Mandokhail recalled his own family’s background in trade and his role in the establishment of the Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry, noting that he is personally familiar with the challenges faced by the business community.

He reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining effective coordination between the government, administration, and traders to promote business activities, safeguard trade routes, and address the difficulties faced by entrepreneurs.
