Following a stellar performance at the 3rd APGC Bangladesh Junior Amateur Golf Championship 2026, the Pakistan Junior Golf Team arrived in Lahore via Sri Lanka on Tuesday to a rousing and warm reception by senior officials and representatives of the Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF).

ISLAMABAD, Sep 29 (APP): Following a stellar performance at the 3rd APGC Bangladesh Junior Amateur Golf Championship 2026, the Pakistan Junior Golf Team arrived in Lahore via Sri Lanka on Tuesday to a rousing and warm reception by senior officials and representatives of the Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF).
A special welcome ceremony was held in honour of the triumphant young golfers, where gifts and traditional sweets were distributed. PGF officials interacted with the players regarding their performance and overseas experience, while interviews were also recorded with the national golfers who clinched the championship titles.
Pakistani players dominated the tournament, particularly in the girls’ categories. Talented golfer Jannat Aamir Jami from Indus Golf Club Attock displayed exceptional grit and consistency to clinch the Girls Under-15 Championship title. Lahore Gymkhana’s Nabeeha Nafees produced a commanding performance to secure first place and the championship title in the Girls Under-19 category, while Pakistan’s Areeba Rizwan finished as the runner-up in the same category sealing a clean sweep of the top two spots for Pakistan. In the boys’ divisions, the young golfers also delivered encouraging results, with U-15 players finishing among the top five and U-19 golfers securing spots in the top ten.
According to the Pakistan Golf Federation, this triumph marks a major milestone for the PGF Junior Development Programme launched in January 2026. Spearheaded by PGF Manager Malik Kamran, who holds a Game Development and High Performance certification from the PGA of Australia, the initiative aims to scout emerging talent nationwide,
deliver structured training, and provide equal competitive opportunities to build a robust talent pipeline for the future.
The programme earned global acclaim when world golf governing body, The R&A, invited PGF to showcase this model at its Global Alliance Best Practices Exchange. Sent upon the invitation of the Bangladesh Golf Federation, the junior contingent served as an operational extension of this initiative, translating structured grassroots efforts into immediate and remarkable victories.
The national junior squad comprised Jannat Aamir Jami (Indus Golf Club, Attock), Nabeeha Nafees (Lahore Gymkhana), Areeba Rizwan, Wareesha Shahid Malik (Islamabad Club), Dua Fareed Rao (PAF Risalpur), Muhammad Musa Adil Warraich (Peshawar Golf Club), Behzad Murtaza (Karachi Golf Club), Mustafa Zubair (Margalla Greens Islamabad), and Muhammad Baariq Ayub (PAF Islamabad).
The Pakistan Golf Federation lauded the players, their parents, Team Manager Tehmina Ali for her administrative leadership, and the Bangladesh Golf Federation for their warm hospitality. The PGF noted that beyond immediate podium finishes, the core objective of the tour was to expose young golfers to competitive pressure and diverse international playing conditions.
The federation reaffirmed its commitment to continuing structured training and international exposure to further strengthen junior golf across the country.
