The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore has completed the renovation and restoration of Ali Mardan Hall, a historic university building, and formally inaugurated the facility.

LAHORE, Sep 29 (APP): The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore has completed the renovation and restoration of Ali Mardan Hall, a historic university building, and formally inaugurated the facility.
Vice Chancellor UET Lahore Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir inaugurated the Ali Mardan Hall.
The hall comprises 107 rooms, while approximately Rs 92 million had been spent on its renovation and restoration.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir said that Ali Mardan Hall was a historic asset of UET Lahore and, instead of demolishing the old structure, the university administration decided to preserve and restore it while retaining its historical
significance and utility. He said that protecting the university’s historic assets and making them functional according to modern requirements remained among the administration’s priorities.
He said the restoration of Ali Mardan Hall had not only preserved a valuable part of the university’s infrastructure but also enhanced residential facilities for students.
The 107-room hostel, previously designated as a boys’ hostel, had now been converted into a girls’ hostel, providing additional accommodation facilities for female students.
