The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a bearish trend on Tuesday, losing 825.22 points, a negative change of 0.48 percent, to close at 169,600.41 points against 170,425.62 points recorded in the previous trading session.
PSX witnesses bearish trend, loses over 825 points

ISLAMABAD, Sep 29 (APP): The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a bearish trend on Tuesday, losing 825.22 points, a negative change of 0.48 percent, to close at 169,600.41 points against 170,425.62 points recorded in the previous trading session.
The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 568.040 million shares, compared to 421.015 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value increased to Rs20.812 billion from Rs17.736 billion.
Market capitalisation decreased to Rs18.890 trillion from Rs18.962 trillion recorded a day earlier.
Out of 496 companies that traded in the ready market, 154 posted gains, 305 suffered losses, while 37 remained unchanged.
Cnergyico PK led the volume chart with 56.532 million shares, followed by Tasdeeq Information with 56.2952 million shares and K-Electric Limited with 34.673 million shares.
Among the top gainers, PIA Holding Company LimitedB surged by Rs375.00 to close at Rs15,500.00, while Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited advanced by Rs149.50 to settle at Rs 25,335.00.
On the losing side, Sapphire Textile Mills Limited declined by Rs 83.41 to close at Rs 1,477.24, while Pakistan Services Limited fell by Rs 26.26 to Rs 1,118.78.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 133.644 million shares with a traded value of Rs 6.807 billion, compared with 129.321 million shares worth Rs 6.591 billion in the previous session.
Of the 295 companies traded in the DFC market, 62 advanced, 233 declined and zero remained unchanged.
