ISLAMABAD, Sep 29 (APP): The 7th International Lifestyle Medicine Conference on Tuesday brought together health and environmental advocates to discuss the link between healthy living and a healthy environment.
Former Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza, speaking as chief guest, highlighted environmental action as an important component of lifestyle medicine and its role in promoting a healthier society.
Dr Zafar Mirza, former Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health and Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Pakistan Association of Lifestyle Medicine, has consistently appreciated the environmental work of the participant, describing it as “environmental Sufism” and referring to the activist as an “environmental Sufi.”
Mirza said environmental protection and related community activities are important dimensions of lifestyle medicine, which takes a broader approach to health by recognising the role of everyday living conditions and behaviours.
The participants shared that the conference provided an opportunity to further connect lifestyle medicine with environmental awareness and community action.
“We will continue working together to promote lifestyle medicine, environmental awareness and community action for a healthier Pakistan,” the participants commented.
