7.6 mn registrations made under PM’s Special Fuel Relief Scheme: Committee told

ISLAMABAD Sep 29 (APP): A meeting with Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar in the chair, Tuesday, was informed that so far, around 7.6 million registrations had been successfully made under PM’s Special Fuel Relief Scheme while token redemption process entered the second week.

The DPM/FM chaired a meeting of the National Steering Committee on Fuel Subsidy to review implementation of the Prime Minister’s Special Fuel Relief Scheme.

The committee reviewed progress on registration, token redemption, payments and complaint management, the Office of DPM said in a press release.

The meeting was attended by the Ministers for IT & Telecommunication and Information & Broadcasting; SAPM Tariq Bajwa; federal and provincial secretaries and officials from the State Bank of Pakistan, OGRA, NITB and PDA.

The DPM/FM appreciated the success of the scheme and highlighted that it was a reflection of the “whole of government’s” approach in which the M/o Information Technology & Telecom; M/o Information & Broadcasting; M/o Petroleum; OGRA; State Bank of Pakistan and Provinces had made concerted efforts.

Dar further stressed the need for continued coordination to facilitate beneficiaries and ensure smooth service delivery across the country.
