GILGIT, Sep 29 (APP):A meeting of the Provincial Steering Committee for the Prime Minister’s Free Solar Scheme for Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) was held under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan.
The Committee reviewed the progress of solar panel distribution and the arrangements for completing the remaining distribution process.
The Committee decided to issue a final public notice providing selected applicants one week to receive their solar panels and added that last date of collection would be October 4.
The Secretary Information was directed to widely publicize the notice through print, electronic, social, and local media.
The Committee further directed all Deputy Commissioners to facilitate citizens in their respective districts during the collection of solar panels and to ensure effective coordination with the concerned departments and district storekeepers.
Deputy Commissioners were also directed to submit verified details of on-ground solar panel stock, including undamaged available panels and damaged panels, in coordination with the Water and Power Department. The information will be used for stock reconciliation and planning the remaining distribution.
NATCO was directed to ensure the timely transportation of solar panels allocated to Information Technology businesses to their respective districts.
The committee emphasized that all concerned departments must ensure timely compliance with the decisions so that the remaining solar panels could be distributed without further delay.
